I read what I thought might be applicable threads on my issues in this area, but I didn’t see anything. I’ve raved about HomeWave since I bought it last year & still like it; however, I’ve encountered a few things that strike me as odd. These are either bugs or feature requests.
First, having to do with a Trane thermostat I’ve just added:
[ul][li]This is the first thermostat I’ve had with the AUTO function (rather than just COOL/HEAT). When I select AUTO from within HomeWave, I’m unclear on how the COOL and HEAT setpoints are changed on the physical thermostat. It doesn’t appear to work correctly.[/li]
[li]On my HomeWave screen, I added thermostat MODE as Buttons (vs. Rose). When adding Buttons, a title is automatically added, for example, “2nd Floor Thermostat.” Now, when I delete the text, the four-box Buttons do not change size to fill up the tile. I only noticed this because I replaced an old thermostat with no text above the Buttons with a new thermostat and relinked the Buttons. When relinking, the Buttons shrank vertically and added new text. When I deleted the text… the Buttons did not refill the tile vertically.[/li][/ul]
In an unrelated issue, I’ve somehow locked the configuration for my wife’s iPhone and now I’m unable to edit it. I’m sure I did it when saving the configuration by selecting “Lock configuration” in the Save screen… but it’s not obvious to me how to get back to editing it.
Otherwise, on the feature request side… some text sizing options would be good (small, medium, large). Maybe some text alignment. For vertical alignment, I find myself using a lot of spaces & hard returns in the Caption field.
When your thermostat is on auto mode and the HomeWave control is set to auto (Temperature), the control will change the heat setpoint when the thermostat is heating up the house, and the cooling setpoint when cooling the house. If that does not work satisfactory, I suggest adding two separate thermostat controls in HomeWave and setting one to explicitly control the heat setpoint, the other controlling cooling.
I’ll look into the resizing code for the Buttons control (is more tricky than you might think)
If you save a configuration as “locked” and load it onto another phone, there is no way to unlock it. That’s the whole point: you can give other people (like caretakers) limited access to your Vera without letting them add controls they shouldn’t be messing with.
There’s a new text alignment option in the last release. Adjustable font size is on the list for a future release.
Got it, thanks for the response. Although re: thermostat controls, I will say that my thermostat is NEVER in “heat” mode (I’m in FL), but the thermostat control in HomeWave ALWAYS displays the “heat” set point when in auto.
I just checked it… the thermostat is actively cooling, HomeWave shows the cooling set point in cool mode, flipped over to “auto,” and it shows the heat set point. Still actively cooling.
I am concluding the setting up of my sonos system…and all is working good…
I have one scene created in vera3 (luup code) to say for me if a lamp is turned on or off or even what time is…
but I was thinking in …have a text box in homewave linked to a luup function in my vera and the text inserted would be a parameter to pass to the function…
the function receive the text and I can with this speak the message to a determined sonos unit.
is it possible ?
I can read each time more peoples installing sonos systems and would be good use this system to speaks messages in the home, like: Son go study now !

This is not the thread you’re looking for.
(That’s the iOS Settings app, with the grey gears. This is how all iOS apps are supposed to expose their settings, but it happens infrequently enough that users forget it’s there.)
