.608 Scenes

Since upgrading to 1.0.608 my scenes have been acting strange, they come on, but the timers seem to not work to shut things off again. Anyone else having this issue?

Too bad, Vera was just getting really reliable for me.

yeah, I had a hell lot more problems with 608

  1. scenes kicked off at weird time
  2. my location time tells me that I am in 1999
  3. internet (router functions stop working every 2 hrs
  4. all nodes failed to be polled

Can you go back to 602? The link for 602 doesn’t seemed to work, I’ve submitted ticket #793

Now I also have a device that has always worked, not working and unable to configure it. I love “upgrades”, especially the unecessary ones that cause more problems than they solve. What a PITA.

My Vera is sick as well.

Gotta revert.

Instructions for forcing a firmware flash are here: http://wiki.micasaverde.com/index.php/Firmware_Flash

The link to 602 works for downloading, but not within Vera.

How in the world did this release get so f-d up that you can’t load firmware from within Vera from a URL?! Grrrrrrr.

I’m not up for swapping cables around tonight to do the rescue flash… maybe there’ll be a solution magically appearing in the morning.

I’m really sorry. We stopped development work on the 602 branch after we shifted to Luup since everyone said 602 worked well and there were no known bugs. We didn’t plan on doing any more releases to 602–the next release was to be Luup. But then Schlage changed their firmware which altered the way PIN codes have to be sent (ASCII vs. HEX). This was a bug since the Z-Wave protocol clearly defines PIN codes as ASCII. But suddenly we started getting tons of customers who couldn’t set PIN codes in their Schlage locks, so we had to rush out an update quickly to workaround this bug in the locks. We’ll work on identifying the cause of these timer issues and come up with a fix asap. I’m really sorry again.

Downgraded to .602 and all is well. No more upgrades for me unless I absolutely need the new features.

I just installed 608, and had no problem reverting back to .602. Go to Advanced, Downloads, copy/paste the link below into the “Firmware URL” box, click “Download”, and then when prompted, choose the option to “Keep my current settings”. You’ll be back on 602 and everything will be like it was before. If you’re having a problem with this, try calling our call center at (702) 487-9770, and choose the option for support. I just forwarded the support to my mobile phone until the call center opens up again tomorrow morning. I obviously want to get to the bottom of this ASAP.

Also, if anybody can post the exact problem in this thread it would be really helpful. There seems to be issues with timers going off at wrong times. If that’s the case, could you reply with: a) the 4 digit serial number on your Vera (4 digit number between 6000 and 9000), b) indicate your time zone, c) the date/time the timer should have gone off, and d) the date/time that it did go off. Or something specific like that. The findvera server does log certain events in a central database so you can view it online. I will check the date/timestamps in the database for events around that time to see if perhaps the timezone/location is getting messed up, since another poster mentioned something suspicious on his Location tab, which would explain scenes misfiring.

Also, if you check the box Advanced, Logs, “verbose logging” before the problem occurs, and then submit a trouble ticket shortly after the problem (choose Advanced, Tech Support), we’ll have detailed logs that we can use to determine exactly what went wrong.

Except some strange behavior of my window coverings, I really don’ have any (additional) problem with .608.

Scenes are working. Time/timezone is correct (Berlin/Germany).

For me, the events did not fire at sunset. I manually activated them and then started to research what went wrong. They never had a chance to activate on their own.

I’m not sure if it was coincidental, but I had a terrible time adding and removing code from my locks yesterday as well. I had to reset the dongle every time, once I figured out that this was what was needed. I did not have that problem before.

I also notice that Vera may be rebboting itself. The logs used to get to several thousand and now just get to a couple hundred and start over again.

There seems to be an issue with the date/time - timers and network on Vera in 608 release.
I’ve fix it and this firmware should work ok:

Please report any other issues.
Thanks,

We just pushed up a 616 update. This should address all the issues. We took the stable 602, and just added the change necessary to work around the problem with the new batch of Schlage locks that require the PIN codes to be sent in a different format.
