Any info on the changes in 1221 & 1186?
I can only find info to 1183.
Based on personal experience, it may be wise to stay away from 1221…
I haven’t seen any Release Notes. However, it seems 1221 contains the new Z-wave firmware (optionally installed), but not clear that the z-wave dongle identification is all up to snuff yet (ref my previous post)
Is Rel 1221 officially available or is it still under Beta test ?
Beta test
It’s NOT even in Beta test yet! At least there were no official word from MCV yet. So, unless you are feeling adventurous/lucky, you may consider to stay away from it for now… ![]()
I’ve only got a dozen devices and several scenes. Started playing with these revs the other day.
I figure the 1221 can’t be any worse then the 1183 or 1186.
Never actually intended to use 1221, but somehow vera reverted to 1183, went to get 1186 because of people saying it works better with schlage locks, but the beta site fed me 1221 instead.
Upgrade wasn’t smooth and required a power down of Vera.
Going from 996 ( I think ) to 1183 caused 80% of the devices to lose their names.
All scenes got lost.
Schlage lock is giving the failed to get security info and fails to pair. Probably have to factory reset, but have to get everyones codes so they can be re entered.
Wayne Dalton scene controller is questionable. I tried a scene but it did not work, now I notice there are 2 _Scene Controllers listed in the device list for scene events. There is only 1 controller on the system. Probably picked the wrong one for the scene, or it is possible the scene controller is not responding. Hard to tell, it just shows as blue in the screen but does not show an error when highlighted. Advanced details never shows it getting configured or responding.
Odd part is that for scenes there is an extra device, a _Scene Controller. All devices are accounted for, but yet there is an extra device that can be selected in scenes. This device does not show on the main screen and I can’t find a way to make a device hidden from the screen. So I don’t know how to identify or delete this device.
Also can’t find a way to view zwave jobs from the main screen or mymios, there used to be a way to view the jobs in groups of 100. Would be nice to know what devices are actually responding so I can figure out which _Scene Controller is the real one.
Will play with it a but on Sat. Worse case I will just go back to an older rev.
A glitch was discovered in 1.1.1221. That’s why it wasn’t released or offered to anyone (beta testers included). It’s been fixed, and we’re testing a new build and if it works, 1.1.1222 will be offered to the beta testers today, and to the general public a few days after the beta testers confirm there are no problems. I emailed davidlee separately to try to figure out why the upgrade didn’t work for him.
Do the beta testers actually have 1.1.1222 yet?
Yes we do.
micasaverde, what is your estimate in making ver 1222 available?
MiCasaVerde, do you have a list of bug fixes that go with each new version? It would be nice to know what the fixes were before trying out a brand new firmware.
Also, will any future firmware’s help reduce the Server Busy issues that make the system non responsive?

Thanks Denix. Good information.

Note that this is relative to 1047, not 1183 or 1186.
(I thought the latest status was that you went to 1186, after downgrading to analyze the DSC issue.)
Hi,
Yes, we are listening to all of you. And we made a lot of fixes, improvements. I won’t be able to give an ETA for the release though since the new Z-Wave stuff is still under tests from both our Engineers and Beta Testers Group. We already moved to a newer beta version and things seems to be going in the right direction.
Thanks!
I have been running version 992 which is what the factory default reset took me to. I will be upgrading soon to the latest version but I had to go backwards due to no serial support with the DSC plugin. A new plugin fixing the problem is being tested currently.

Slow question, if one would like to use the latest Beta version how/where does one gain access? thanxs
I did an update a couples of minutes ago trough micasaverde.com/vera2 page, and it installed the 1.1.1234 version, but you are talking about 1.1.1183, 1.1.1186 and 1.1.1222, so, what is this 1234 about ?
1234 is the latest unofficially released beta version. The latest official one is 1183.
Any versions in between are unofficial too. Basically, they are versions that were made available to the beta testers, and therefore are completely at your own risk for testing with yourself.
Once a version is deemed stable enough by the beta testers and MCV, it will be officially released (as a beta, or not).
