I just got the veralite and started playing with setting it up, so some of my questions may sound naive, but these things are not yet obvious to me.
First of all, my notifications don’t work. I created scenes for devices, for example asking my lock to send a notification to my phone when bad PIN is entered. Doesn’t happen, although everything looks fine.
Secondly, I have notifications with false alarms (e.g. system notifying me about my living room temperature dropping below the level I specify, when actual temperature is different, indoor motion sensor tripping when I’m the only person home and sitting in my office upstairs)
Is this due to bugs in the system or I’m missing something obvious?
Some locks have problems reporting bad pin … mine (Schlage FE599 Lever Lock) take 3 bad tries before it sends a notification.
What kind of lock do you have ?
You might want to search for it on the forums.
Are your running UI6 ? I have seen some notification problems with it … more notifications than I should get.
UI5 is much more stable.
Since you are getting started you might want to look at Vera Alerts.
I also believe that not every lock supports these functions.
What type of motion senor do you have? Some are not very reliable. Your issues can be a mixture of poor devices that are not very reliable to how you have your notifications set up.

I used UI6, so I’ll give it a try with UI5, although it seems to have less options and confuses F and C all the time
I have Yale Lock, that’s probably what the problem is. I’m going to try it three times to see if it sends the notification
As for the sensor, I’ve got 4-in-1 Aeon.
I’ll definitely browse Vera Alerts, if nothing else helps, RTFM, right?

I searched through all the forum researching camera options, but somehow I assumed that sensors are so basic, that you don’t even have to worry about it.
My bad.
Anyways, back to wrong notifications… I’ve set a notification for system to report me when temperature in my living room drops below 64F, and I do get notification texted to me when it’s 19C, which is 66F.
As for the lock, I’ve tried entering wrong PIN 3 times, still no luck. System does not send me a notification either.
(Yale Living touchscreen). Off to google to see if someone reported similar problem with this lock.
So, the bottom line is 75% of my notifications don’t work
I’ve installed Vera Alerts yesterday, will see if I have better luck with it.
I have just purchased and started using vera lite I am not sure how the notification limit works especially for my kwik set lock there appears to be a limit on notifications can any one tell me how many notifications are permitted and how long the limit stays active.

I have downgraded Ui6 to Ui5 and many of my problems have went away. I think that’t your best first try.
the 4-1 is known for issues so you might still have issues there.
