1.0.899 Problems

My “Download” page under “Advanced” is showing 1.0.899 as the latest vera firmware release, can anyone else confirm this…?

Yes. See “Official Announcements” section of the Forum.

Yep, lol, and there it is… I checked the wiki and it has not been updated yet. 899 just seemed like a big jump when someone was talking about 891 just today.

Thanks… doh!

Well, since I have this thread open, might as well ask if anyone is having any problems yet. My Panasonic cams are still not working… I guess its time I submitted a ticket on this… havent worked since 6xx. And… my timed scenes werent firing in 88x, hopefully that has been taken care of… we shall see tomorrow.

Funny 88x cured my issues with timed scenes. Nothing new from 886 to 899 for me, everything working the same, no new issues.

My findvera page is not working with 899, how is everyone elses? hmmmm…

B0SST0N, FindVera.com is working with 899 for me. Just fired it up on my iPhone.

Findvera.com/mobile also seems to now “hide” Devices correctly when it’s listing them, which makes it cleaner also (I have lots of child Devices of my Alarm that all need to be hidden)

B0SST0N, when you say the cams aren’t working, you mean pan/tilt, or you can’t view them either? Can you turn on verbose logging, try to control your panasonic cams, and then submit a trouble ticket with a detailed description? Panasonic cams are part of our test plan, so they should work fine.

I have 2 panasonic cams… ever since 6xx this is what happens… (BTW I have default logins set up on each one so vera should automatically work with them)

I install the plugin… vera only finds one camera by upnp and then i select the room that camera… the other camera is never even detected.

Then i go to the dashboard and the 1 camera is there, i click on view camera and a little box where the image is supposed to be tries to load for a few seconds and then shows a broken image link.

When I go into the camera setup and copy/paste the URL that the image is supposed to be coming from into my web browser it comes up fine in my browser after typing in the default vera login.

I will submit a trouble ticket later today.

BTW, both cameras do show up in my windows explorer networking area as upnp devices, so i cant understand why vera wouldnt detect both… i dunno… like i said ill submit a trouble ticket later today.

Also, I just tried findvera.com again here from work… i can login fine but when i click on the “control” menu option it says “Communication error with your vera, please try again.” Has not worked since upgrading to 899 last night.

I have a scene that triggers on a 3-in-1 motion detector when “an armed sensor is tripped” and sends me an email. This has stopped tripping since the upgrade. Anything I can check?

fixed a few of my issues here, i checked the findvera tab and my username/password got deleted from that page somehow after the upgrade (there was garbage text in its place), i put everything in again and findvera is working again.

same thing with my location tab, which explains why my sunset/sunrise scenes were not firing… and my timers were going off at the wrong times. everything seems better… (except for my panasonic cameras, going to work on that now…)

I seem to be connected to findvera ok

B0SST0N, I’m just gonna spew a few things I recall MCV saying (or writing in the wiki) about how Vera detects Panasonic cameras:

They explained that Vera basically “listens” to TCP/IP traffic for a new network device to ask DHCP for an IP address. It’s at this stage that Vera pokes around and figures out it’s a Panasonic camera.

Now, in my recollection about how DHCP requests happen, isn’t it when a device first participates in the network? i.e. when the Panasonic cams are first plugged in?

May I suggest powering down the cameras, and re-connecting them one at a time, in order for Vera to have a shot at “seeing” them anew? Just a thought.

B0SST0N, any luck since your original post regarding your Panasonic camera(s) in .899?

Is anyone else’s “Verbose Logging” setting stuck in the ‘checked’ position under .899? Mine is, which I just noticed. For the record, I have not touched this control in several days, so I expected it would have reset itself to ‘unchecked’ within 24 hours of my last use.

Has this behavior changed with .899? If so, won’t Vera’s log memory fill up much more quickly?

No my cameras still arent working… i was working on getting my HSM100s working last night. Might try and get my leviton scene controllers working tonight… cams havent been working for awhile. Ill get to them soon, lol.

Found some issue regarding currency and value of electric costs.
Changes in currency and value of a kwh are not saved in the configuration.

“Verbose Logging” is unchecked in my 899 version but I haven’t touched it since the upgrade, either.

Any idea why my Vera say 1.0.616 is what I am running and also the latest version? How should I upgrade to 1.0.899?

There is no righ way to do a wrong thing. <><

rpspiker:

Only by providing the URL specified in the release announcement in the download box. 616 is the last firmware in pre-Luup series and cannot be automatically upgraded to 8xx/9xx series with Luup.
